Playing alone and other French parenting secrets
The Wall Street Journal examines the secrets of French parenting. How about this gem?

Reminds me of my mother. She was a proponent of "don't pick up the baby" when he's entertaining himself and safely engaged in what he's doing. It's an interruption that is done for the satisfaction of an adult, not the benefit of the child.
That still leaves us with the question of what damaged me...but I guess we can check this one off.
