"Was gathering walnuts with Ritzy Sunday - one perfect fall day after a heavy frost in the morning.  Nothing that I know of can be so delightfully pure and heavenly as these mornings are in the woods and fields.  Hulled a peck of nuts and hid them along the road to be picked up later when in the auto.  Rowdy has been in the country several days with Jake.  The fine fellow came home tonight and asked for a square meal.  Then we had our usual walk in the bottoms."
