Music for Roctober - #19 - Janis Joplin

Janis Jopin was dead in 1971 when "Me and Bobbie McGee" rose to #1 on the US Charts.  She was found dead in her hotel room from a heroin overdose in October, 1970.  The song was written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster and was originally recorded (and charted) by country artist, Roger Miller.  While "Me and Bobbie McGee" was not written for Joplin it seem appropriate to her lifestyle and is one of the great story songs:
