Regulatory time-out

Take some time today and read Senator Susan Collins' editorial on regulations at The Wall Street Journal.  Regulation is out of control in this country.  We hear about some problem and too often think "there oughta be a law".  We all have our pet projects that we let slip through our critical thinking filter and in the process we are strangling innovation.

An excerpt:

"America's overregulation problem is only getting worse. Right now, federal agencies are at work on more than 4,200 rules, 845 of which affect small businesses, the engine of job creation in our country. More than 100 are major rules, with an economic impact of more than $100 million each."

I would add to her appeal that the regulations, when enacted, never quite do what they were intended to do anyway.  There oughta not be a law.
