Productive destruction
Steve over at Anderson Layman's Blog is pushing a great idea:
We need a bonfire of the vanities in the United States, a grand liquidation of the subsidies and irrational payments that have accumulated over generations of horse-trading and favor swapping. Let’s have a bipartisan barbecue where all the sacred cows from all the parties get served.
I've often wondered whether we could get people interested in a governmental clean-up era - no new laws; only a removal of old laws and regulations and subsidies and taxes. It is a damned good idea.
