The Wall Street Journal Law Blog interviews law professor Bradley Joondeph on the recent 11th Circuit Court's decision that the Obama Health Care Bill requirement that all U.S. citizens to purchase health insurance is unconstitutional:
"[I]t’s going to be a huge gut check for Roberts. From the moment he was confirmed as Chief Justice, he’s seemed keenly interested in his legacy, and this case will in all likelihood be a not insignificant part of his legacy.

Is this a case where Roberts views the heroic move as vindicating deeper constitutional principles? Or does he say regardless of what I think, this is an opportunity for me to show the average American that the Supreme Court is not about partisan politics? That is, it’s about something other than that. That’s one message that might be gleaned from a Republican-controlled Supreme Court upholding the law, and in so doing defying a big part of the Republican Party’s platform."
