  He dragged his lacrosse net from our backyard and brought his sticks and a bunch of balls. Setting up the goal just past the machine, he started taking shots. Got it up to around 97 mph.
  
  He turned around and suddenly realized there was a cop in a car watching him.
  
  "Nice shot," the constable said, and drove on.
  
  Kid couldn't have been prouder...
