Celebration. . .and then onward

I finished an important part of a big project today and found myself thinking of a fellow at the end of my dormatory hall in college.  Doug was his name.  I remember whenever Doug completed a project - a big paper or a test or project - he would emerge from his confinement, whether it was his dorm room or the classroom and spend a few minutes doing a fine imitation Curly from the Three Stooges.  He would slap himself on the forehead, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk and whooo, whooo, whooo as he danced around the hallway for a few minutes.  Dorm mates would emerge from their rooms and watch the show.

Then he would stop and become Doug again, moving on to the next project.  It was his way of celebrating the end of something and making a transition to the next thing.

I went and got a haircut.
