Hayek warns against our tendency toward an "omnipotent elected assembly".  Great stuff. 

Hayek jumps straight to the point about our form of democracy:  ". . .the process in which you form a majority is by paying off particular groups with particular benefits."  He leads to the very point the framers worked so hard to manage - government must be limited or it will naturally gravitate toward abuse.
