"We think Ritz is going through a case of distemper.  He is so nervous and lively that he overt exerts and gets bad colds or maybe this is distemper.  The other evening Rowdy treed a kitten in the bottoms.  I left him barking, thinking he'd soon give it up and come home.  After two hours (about 10:30) I went back there on the hunt for the dog and he was still barking at that cat.  He's a dandy.

Very good growing season."
