The shame

This evening, my wife handed me the power company's handy energy consumption comparison (we are the blue line).  The kids looked over my shoulder as I thought out loud about where I could buy some energy credits.  Henry wasn't phased.  "We use more power than the neighbors because they are old and never turn their lights on."

I'll bet those "efficient neighbors" are so smug.

    This is great!!

I hope my power company starts doing this. My neighbors are older and heat with wood. I'll neglect to consider the hard facts of the number of people that use all the great things that power provides and blame ALL of it on the kids leaving their lights on and the doors open. This shame could add up to an extra $10/month or so in my pocket.
