Back in time with my Great Grandfather's journal. 1931.
"A pretty clear day. I have spent it choring and reading at home. I intended to go hunting but Rowdy ran away courting and got his ear badly split. He came home last night covered with blood from a romeo dog fight. His ear was badly slit. I washed him as best I could. He is patient about such things. This morning it was matted together and I was hopeful of it healing that way. But he has gone courting again and I suppose when he comes home in a day or two he will be in a bad way again. I'm dull today for having stayed indoors."
