No fun aloud
Last year it seemed that every other week, Henry (aged 9) would report on the latest outdoor game that had been banned at school because "someone might get hurt". Tackle football was off limits, then touch football if it was too rough. Tag was eliminated after someone tripped and fell. By the end of the year a dejected Henry proclaimed that "nothing fun" was allowed at recess.

It reminds me of the resentment I still harbor for my father, who let me ride in the back of a pick up truck and drink water from a garden hose.He even let me shoot guns and be on his police dept. pistol team when I was in high school. How could he take those chances with my life? How did I ever survive my clueless and inattentive parents? I still have a scar on my knee, 40 years after cutting it on the playground in 6th grade. Has the statute of limitations run out or could I still sue them because I can't be a swimsuit model because of my knee? Who is John Galt?

You seem traumatized Ray. I'll bet the scar prohibits you from enjoying yourself in the heat while wearing shorts? Horrible. Let's get you to an attorney.
