The options in uncertain times boil down to two:  Influence or adapt.

Both have their advantages. 

The influencers, if their stock and sense of place and time are right, can help shape the new reality from the grays of uncertainty.  They offer the answers, the guidance, the perspective.  They are the necessary realistic vision in the change formula.  The influencers will interpret and guide through the uncertainty.

The adapters can be the second mouse to arrive at the trap.  Their patience and cunning is admirable.  They may wind up with the cheese.  They create out of the ebb and flow of new situations, reading the direction and being at the ready when the weather breaks.

The dangers are likewise present in each.

The influencers might misplay a hand and end up on the fringe.  Their boldness could burn them.  Their audience could be the wrong one, their views the ones that weren't accepted.

The adapters can end up soulless.  Selling out for a market, the classic opportunist.
