Note:  I cycled around on D.C.'s 1935 journal and have opened a fresh notebook (I have four of D.C.'s journals).  D.C. would be a man in his mid-sixties as these notebooks were written.  More about D.C. here .

"Frank planted first corn today in field west of alfalfa.  McCullough seed - long grained yellow dent.

Quite chilly with threat of frost.  Was at farm covering melon, cucumbers and other plants.  Garden plants raised in my hot bed unusually fine.

My health excellent; injured ankle giving no trouble this year.  Certainly long in recovery."
