"A wet March. North, E. says, have had terrible, almost record floods. Our rivers are all over the bottoms and across the Lewisville Road. Came within four or five inches of getting on the Roscoe Road - gauge stood at 13.7 feet at high point. Was at the farm Wed. eve. The river overflow was coursing across in three streams any of which would have made a normal river. Maybe this will remedy some of the damage done by the ice flood.
The dogs had a fine rabbit chase up through the corn field to the levee. I'm more hopeful and getting the farm fever. Planted lettuce in garden this evening.
Frank Storch has papered the hallway, living and dining room this week - $20 for labor."
