Mission jukebox
It was 2007 - spring. I decided to create the ultimate rock and roll playlist. Those songs that I considered to be the 500 Greatest Rock Songs of all time. After three months of edited, reviewing and editing, researching and tweaking, I was confident that I had the list. I proudly put the project to bed and moved on to the 100 greatest country songs project.
I have a thing about musical lists. This Monday, I was looking at a compact disk of great jukebox songs. and imagined a big jukebox filled with wonderful music - the ultimate jukebox selection. The response has been great and it has now become a mission for me. My jukebox sits in a cozy restaurant. It holds 160 songs. Special songs that would serve as a soundtrack for the evening as course after course of delicious food was served. Beverages and conversation with great friends would complement these songs well. They would fit like a comfortable pair of shoes or an old sweater. The crackle of a needle on worn vinyl before the songs starts would seem natural.
I've had some great suggestions and this is where the list stands tonight (in no particular order):
