Repeal agenda
Rarely do government programs, once enacted, face repeal. Yes, there was the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988. Remember then-Ways and Means Chairman Rep. Dan Rostenkowski being chased down by angry seniors?
But generally, when entitlement programs are put in place by Congress, they stay.
Could 2010 be a repeal election? Given the significant opposition to many of Obama's policies (as opposed to Obama's personality), it is a possibility.
Julie Ponzi writes at No Left Turns about Charles Kessler's editorial on just that subject in the latest issue of the Claremont Review of Books. Sadly, I can't download the full editorial but it is an interesting political phenomenon that may develop.
