"Received first payment for corn adjustment today for $48.90.

Saturday rabbit hunt a little more productive.  Ritz jumped the first rabbit on the levy.  They chased it through McCullough corn for quite a while then lost it.  I walked toward them suspecting the rabbit had circled.  Sure enough, I scared him up some distance from me and fired two cross shots at him leading him and missing him both times.  The dogs took him over the levy by McCullough's shed into my corn field then trailed him out of that across the alfalfa on the bank, losing him in the pond shelter plot.

The dog found another rabbit I did not see.  Then I jumped one in the McCullough alfalfa.  He ran directly from me toward the river.  I attempted to shoot but had a clumsy one-finger mitt on and could not reach the trigger.  Ritz and Rowdy chased that rabbit in a long circle through the corn, back to the river, then to my shelter plot.  Rowdy did nice work on that.  Ritz soon quits on a cold trail and waits for Rowdy to bring it back, and, of course, this prevents me from getting a good shot at it.  It's fun just the same."

I face a dilemma with my great grandfather.  He didn't write much in the winter and so he doesn't have another entry until December 25, 1935.  I get to either go through a year at a time with big gaps in entries or speed the process of transcribing by mixing up years.  I'm going to try the latter.  I am reading this stuff new with you and enjoy it as well.
