Wilson to be "scolded". Senate Democrats toughen immigration provisions of health bill
On Wednesday, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) said "you lie" when the President claimed that the proposed health care reform bill did not cover illegal immigrants.
On Wednesday, Wilson apologized for the outburst.
On Friday, the Senate began working to "toughen provisions in the health bill to prevent illegal immigrants for enjoying benefits" under the bills provision because on Thursday the administration said that it "favors tougher restrictions for illegal immigrants than were included in the House version of the health bill."
And, in related news, Speaker Pelosi says that the House will scold Wilson for his outburst next week.
Good trade but a strange sequencing of events.
