Trust me (II)

Albertine - Brooke Fraser.  Start to finish, a great album (A sample).
Autumn - George Winston.  If you already own this classic, you know.  Otherwise, get a copy for the fall (a sample)
Love on the Inside - Sugarland.  "Steve Earle" is worth the purchase price but the whole album is a gem.
Songs and Poems for Solo Cello - Philip Glass.  And I don't even like Philip Glass.
Essential Aaron Copland - Various.  They are all there.  Great collection.
Beethoven: The Late String Quartets - Emerson String Quartet.  During the rehearsal of many of these, Beethoven could not hear but "studied the bow movements".
You Oughta Be Here With Me - George Jones.  I had this on cassette and forgot how good it is until recently.
Rain - Joe Jackson.  You can even buy it on vinyl. (Sample here)
Charlie Parker with Strings - Charlie Parker.  The results of a 1949 recording session.  Fabulous.
Whisper Not (Live in Paris) - Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, Jack DeJohnette.  Trust me.

And I can't believe I've never heard of Keith Jarrett - what I've been missing!  Now own 3 of his albums - your recommendation and two of his improvisation albums, one of which I'm listening to now.  Just incredible.  A surprising measure of his talent is the utter silence of the audiences in the live performances while he plays, punctuated with the most genuine enthusiasm and appreciation you can imagine when he's done. Many thanks to you for acquainting me with him.

You are very welcome Jim.  I just discovered Jarrett five years ago.  Wonderful stuff.  Haven't found a bad album.
