Signs that your meeting could be improved
- You give little information about the meeting beforehand.
- You aren't sure what you want to say until the meeting starts.
- You can't articulate what you would like to accomplish with the meeting.
- When you look at the items you want to cover in the meeting, they would make a great email or memo.
- You punish those who show up on time (and reward those who don't) by delaying the start of the meeting "until a few stragglers show up."
- You hold the only agenda so no one attending the meeting has any idea how close the meeting is to being completed.
- There is no clear follow-up to any of the items discussed during the meeting (The follow-up to the meeting is usually more an important that the lead up. Good follow-up idea here) .
- There is no clear ending to the meeting (the crowd simply dissipates).

Sounds like our editorial board meetings. When someone besides me bothers to show up.
