Mencken speaks

I'm a big fan of H.L. Mencken's writing (read here).  Terry Teachout's About Last Night directed me to this recording (which I used to have on cassette tape).  Enjoy:

You say you "used to have" this interview "on cassette tape." I think I've heard it. Maybe you gave me a copy. Come to think of it, maybe you lent me your tape and I kept it. I'll look for it at home and let you know whether I find it. (I know you gave me a cassette tape of Joe Sobran reading his essay Pensees, and a printed version of the essay.)

I have no idea where the Mencken tape went.  If you have it, that is great; if not, no big deal.  I have a digital copy of the Sobran essay.  The actual essay can and should be accessed online here.  It is a great read.

Did you by any chance attach a digital copy of the Mencken interview to e-mail, as you used to do with music before you started CO? If so, that's probably what I'm thinking of. Either way, I'll look for it.

Thanks for the link to the Sobran essay. I'll bookmark it. It should be read every New Year's Day, and I haven't read it for years.

No.  I don't have a digital copy of it.
