Think what you like about the rich.  Imagine soaking them with higher taxes and taking away their mortgage deductions BUT remember if you have a 401(k) or some small slice of a publicly traded company, the market will reflect the sentiments of millions of individuals who buy and sell stocks.  Penalize success and reward failure and you get?
