Christmas movies that you might have overlooked

I watch more movies over the Christmas break than normal.  Here are my nominees for your viewing pleasure:

1.  Die Hard - Starring Bruce Willis and set in California on Christmas eve.  Need I say more.  Wrong will fail and right prevail.  Yippee kayee. . .

2.  Die Harder - The second Die Hard was set in Washington D.C. at Christmastime.

3.  Lethal Weapon - Mel Gibson and Danny Glover get the bad guys. . .at Christmas.  What a greeting card.

4.  Ghost Story - Yes, the book is better but the movie stars John Houseman, Fred Astaire and Melvyn Douglas and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.  I own a copy and enjoy it several times a year.

5.  Storm of the Century - a miniseries based on Stephen King's book.  Lots of snow and scariness.  Also, Dreamcatcher is at least set in the winter.

6.  Diner - I featured one of my favorite clips from the movie last week.  It is also set at Christmas.

7.  Patton - Several scenes are set around the holidays and I love to watch George C. Scott wonder if Ike got those two turkeys he sent.

8.  Young Sherlock Holmes - London, winter, a young Holmes and young Watson.  Steven Spielberg did a great job on this prequel.

Enjoy.
