There is still time to pick up a few good scary tales before Halloween.  My picks:

1) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - A classic from Washington Irving.

2) The Tell-tale Heart - Edgar Allan Poe.  Gore and madness with class.

3) The House with the Clock in Its Walls - John Bellairs struck gold with this wonderful tales suitable for children.  Edward Gorey's sketches add to the story.

4) Silent Spring - Stephen King's tale of compulsive murders never solved.

5) The Demon Lover - Great haunted house story.

Enjoy.  Scare yourself.
