Removing tyrants

"It came, of course, on September 11, 2001. By the end of that morning, it was not at all clear that democracy was the wave of the future: How could it be when the actions of so few had damaged so many? How many more such attacks would it take for democratic institutions in the United States to buckle, and if that happened, what prospects would there be for democracy elsewhere? Democracy was facing its gravest crisis in half a century—or so it seemed on that traumatic day."

Of tyrannies and legacies.

Thanks, David.
