Need I say more?

Thanks, Tim Blair.

Mark Steyn says a little more:

"Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are more or less the same age, but Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas (to reprise a famous line on the Rev Jackson) Senator Obama ain't run nothin' but his mouth."

    Hmm,
    1) Running a town of 6,000 (sorry!, it's now up to 7,000)
    2) 2 years into the first term of governing a state of less than 650,000? That constitutes governing? In most states that constitutes getting familiar with the ropes. Oh, and how much of the 2 years was spent in chasing down the state trooper married to her sister?

Come on folks! The Republicans had to have had someone with more experience who could appeal to the religious zealots on the right.

      Time will tell.

I would not consider myself a religious zealot (we never do, do we?) but find her approach to governing refreshing for a Vice Presidential nominee.

I think Obama's experience is pretty limited and he is at the top of the Democratic ticket.

WetBehindTheEars...I'm not big on history so i was wondering if you could tell me if this is the first time in history the Democrat nominee for President felt he had to defend his experience
compared to the Republican nominee for Vice President????????

    Dr. John,
I'm not going into defending Obama's lack of experience (although JFK's political experience is about equal, although his life's experience was incredible at his age). Comparing Obama's experience to Palin is not possible and hopefully Obama won't be baited into such a ridiculous conversation.
    Why?
Obama went through the entire Primary process and, for better or worse, he came out on top. A quicker and more agile support staff? A dearth of opposition? An incredibly large anti Hillary vote? Who knows? The thing is he was a choice offered up by the Dem's and he ended up getting "elected".

I have nothing at all against Gov. Palin. She was not elected in any primary; she didn't even run in one presidential primary. She was picked for her slot, not elected. If any comparisons are to be made, it should be between Senator Biden and Gov. Palin.

However, if this is the first major decision that McCain has made, then, IMHO, it is not a favorable indication of his decision-making skills if he were elected.
Here's an interesting">http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2008/09/08/080908ta_talk_gourevitch?yrail">interesting piece as to what Palin thought of Obama just a few weeks ago. Tonight she may well be expressing thoughts 180 degrees to her musings of less than a month ago.

Spin city and I'm referring to both parties.

Biden wasn't elected in any primary, either. Unlike Palin, he did run in some primaries. He won 3% of the vote in his home state of Delaware and 1% or less in every other contest he entered. Reasonable minds might conclude that is nothing to brag about.
