That's gonna leave a mark

In case you haven't seen this embarrassingly ill-informed exchange.  Matthews slaps down Kevin James (whoever he is) for not knowing who Neville Chamberlain was or what he did:

Ouch.  As I listened back, one point of fairness:  While Mr. James was clueless about Neville Chamberlain, he actually wasn't the one who brought Chamberlain's name into the conversation.  It was Mark Green who invoked Chamberlain and Matthews never asked Green the same question.  James's sin was attempting to gloss over his ignorance.

While we are checking history, Hot Air noticed that Matthews incorrectly places the USS Cole bombing under the Bush Administration and it is quite a stretch for Mark Green to attempt to lay 9/11 at the feet of the Bush administration after nine months in office but whose checking those aspects of historical accuracy?  Not Matthews.

Now, the ultimate chuckle from Drudge.  The Bush Administration says the real target of President Bush's remarks was Jimmy Carter.
