I love how John Stewart jumps into humor when he gets into trouble.  Liberalism is "the individual over the state," when it works as Stewart's definition.  But quote Hillary Clinton:  "We need to move beyond the idea that there is somebody else's child," and Stewart wants to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Poke Stewart's donkey, and he doesn't get it. . .until he quotes Mussolini.
