Pooh, Pooh, Caa, Caa
In public pronouncements, the left takes on the usual air of tolerance for all and defense of every "minority interest," but when it comes to insulting the right in what is thought to be anonymity, a whole new posture emerges. If a conservative uses the term "retarded," sensitivities are questioned and sanctions should be imposed. But how would a liberal -- or folks at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee -- describe, let's say Rush Limbaugh listeners? Well, they are "legally retarded," of course. Little Green Footballs has reported on an Internet tool developed by a Caltech student that allows viewers to see who is attempting edits on the popular online encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Hot Air brings up the Wikipedia page on Rush Limbaugh and we shouldn't be surprised by the lack of sensitivity from employees at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
The public versus private faces of the left have been well documented by former leftists from Whittaker Chambers, in his 1952 book Witness, to Christopher Hitchens, in interviews (jump to paragraph 16). Now we get to see it at work on the Internet. Just remember, do what I say, not what I do.
